Corporate Clothing Wear

Cleaning and Care of Corporate Clothing

Ordering corporate clothing brings to the workplace a sense of the formal, appropriate and a little bit of excitement. After all, who does not love new things? However, once your employees have been wearing that corporate wear for some time, it is going to start looking a little shoddy and “lived-in”. How do you ensure that no matter what industry you work in, the corporate clothes you give your employees stand up to the test of time?

Well, the first thing you want to do is avoid industrial laundering. While you may think that getting a group of professionals to come in and launder your clothes as a whole is cheaper and easier than getting your employees to take their own clothing home to clean, this comes with its issues. First, there is the issue of industrial cleaning agents that can reduce the colour and brightness of clothes and are very heavy on fabrics.

Secondly, the clothes that come back may be clean, but employees will not want to wear those clothes that may have been worn by others. You do not want to make your employees uncomfortable. You also need to know that while the clothes will be clean, they will not necessarily be mended. This is something that requires individualised attention, and for the most part, large companies will not look at each shirt, cap or pair of trousers.

This is not always what companies do; it is however, something that an individual will do. So perhaps the easiest way to ensure that the corporate clothing you order stays good looking is to set up new rules for your business. These can include stating that employees need to mend their own clothes, or at least point out wear issues to a corporate seamstress, and that they should clean their clothes in their own homes.
